Poll for Lego Cuusoo FTL Ship Selection
Update: Gila Monster wins by 2%.
It has been a tooth an nail slog fest between these two from the start but with less than 60 support to go we are locking down the Survey and declaring the Mantis ship "Gila Monster" as the victor.
Now that our Lego Cuusoo FTL project is nearing the 10,000 support mark we need to finalize the specifics of the project.
After reviewing our options we have decided to propose three ships in a single set. One of the ships will be the Kestrel. We have decided to let the fans pick which two other ships will join the Kestrel.
In a fan poll, the Osprey was the clear first choice in the community. The Torus and the Gila Monster are the only true competitors for the third spot and have been slugging it out since the beginning.
In support of this we have simplified the survey:

So far, FedA and ZoltanA are leaders...
ReplyDeleteI am hoping Lego will consider releasing future sets if the first set goes into production and sells well. With a majority of the ships getting between 10%-20% of the votes currently, there seems to be a large variety of preferences amongst which ships get released. I know I would like the chance to collect all of them.
ReplyDeleteSeconded
DeleteThirded
DeleteI'd say Fourth, but I have a feeling closer to ten thousand agree.
DeleteI like the idea of some Federation love in this set, but I personally think the Federation cruisers look far too close to certain male body parts to be considered as a Lego set.
ReplyDeleteThe Zoltan ship is a good choice because it's a specialty ship with it's shields.
Vote Torus
ReplyDeleteBooooo! ;)
DeleteI second this! The Engi's are by far my favorite race (followed by the Zoltans). The ship looks cooler, too.
DeleteGo Gila Monster! You won by one vote last time, you can do it again.
ReplyDeleteI love your enthusiasm but I gotta note a few points for the record.
DeleteThe only "winner" of the first poll was the Osprey. A few minutes before we closed the poll the Torus was in the lead by one vote. The end of one and the start of the other survey is arbitrary.
An even more arbitrary point, the Gila Monster and Torus were actually 100% tied with we started the new survey. A typo kept the old survey running though which left it open for a moment longer than it should have.
Fair enough. Here's my arguments for the Gila Monster then.
Delete1) The set needs some color. Otherwise we'll end up with a spectrum that goes clear from white to light-grey. Got some serious variety going on there my friends ;)
2)If we're starting with only one set, there's no antagonist in having all closely aligned alliance ships. Lets throw some spice in here with the Mantis race.
Honestly I'd love to take the Kestrel out, no offence devs. It may be the big icon and all, but we've got the Osprey to represent, and I 'd rather have that with both the Gila Monster and the Torus any day. That's where I'd vote with my money, but the odds of there even being a vote on that are probably pretty slim.
While I agree with you on this... I just think the Torus looks cooler. And plus, It's not like we're going to legitimately play with the ships. And, well, if you are, just pretend the Engi's are pirates. :P
DeleteI love how you made a new survey to decide between Torus and Gila Monster, but they're still hardcorely close! XD
ReplyDeleteI know, it's totally crazy!
DeleteI'd love to see the Gila Monster in the set, but the Torus fits the theme much better. Gahhhh I don't know what to vote for!
