Cuusoo Analytics: Days to 10k

Surging Projects

In the last few days a few projects have been surging with unusual levels of support.  Andy/Bugdroid the Android by Google experienced a lot of support today.  It is currently the most supported project and only 40 support away from 9k so this could very well be the start of the final sprint to 10k.

The accurate DNA structure from JAPAN is an interesting build and concept I must admit.  Among the variety of unusual aspects of this project is how few comments have been put on the project outside of Cuusoo regulars, especially considering the rate of support it has enjoyed.  Although I fully respect the right of the project to be on Cuusoo, I don't see the point in mass producing it IN Lego as it could be made much better with dedicated non-Lego elements. 

Lego Spice Girls set are a stunningly crafted set of figs based, of course, the Spice Girls.  It just came out this week and has very successfully mastered the Tweet.  In fact the project nearly has as many tweets as it does supporters.  If any of the actual Spice Girls does tweet on this project, I imagine the project will very rapidly reach 10k. 

Medusa's Temple depicts the Greek hero Perseus taking on the Gorgon Medusa.  Following a recent article, Brickset readers have turned out to support.

BONSAI "Pine tree"  is a project that just came out this Wednesday but has already reached 100 support.

Like a real Bonsai tree the idea is that you shape the design to your preference.

A clever and beautiful idea.  

Approaching 1k Milestone

Last week the Motorized Tumbler and MINECRAFT Microworld Add-Ons! crossed the 1k mark.  Both have received official notices but the UCS TARDIS and other Doctor Who sets is still waiting on feedback.  Previous Dr.Who projects have been archived upon reaching 1k due to the the license being unavailable.  Many are wondering why it is taking Cuusoo so long to respond on this.

Meanwhile, one of my favorite Modulars is on its way to the 1k mark.  I think the Modular Costume Store for Collectible Minifigures is not only a beautiful building but also a very clever idea.

Deadline Review

The next review is March 4th, 2012. That is 46 days from today.  The Legend of Zelda looks to be well within that deadline.  If the Bugdroid can maintain its current surge it has very good chances.  Last week it looked like the Land-Rover Defender had a shot but it has been lagging behind.

Not on the List? First, I tend to cut off projects after a certain day count, usually 10k. Additionally, I only monitor projects that have at least 200. Projects less than that are a little too volatile for proper assessment. Finally, I track several weeks worth of data to get these numbers, so you might not show up until your project has been post 200 for a few weeks.
